After your free 15-minute phone consultation, you’ll get a link to some paperwork. You’ll review practice policies, tell me more about yourself, and assess your current functioning.

Once that’s complete, you’ll confirm our first session. You can start wherever feels most relevant to you, and I’ll follow up with questions when appropriate.

The goal of the first three or four sessions is to develop the working relationship and help you recognize what’s been helpful and what’s no longer working.

Before Your Video-Therapy Session

I will email you information on how to log in to the HIPAA-secure video-therapyg platform. You will also receive a link to the secure portal to fill out patient information in advance of our first appointment. I will go over any questions you might have about the paperwork or other matters at your first appointment. You will need a laptop or desktop computer with a video camera and microphone (these are built into most modern laptops). We may be able to use telehealth with a smartphone as well. To assure confidentiality during your session, make sure you have a private space (e.g., home office, bedroom, basement, bathroom, in your car in your driveway, etc.) to be in where you won’t be disturbed or heard. You may use earphones/buds plugged into the computer to help maintaining privacy during your session.
